Please bring a bagged lunch. Beverages and dessert will be provided. This event is open to everyone in the congregation. Friends are most welcome!

Centering Prayer: Please join us for six weeks during Lent to learn about Centering Prayer, a method of silent meditation which is designed to speak to modern minds, but whose origins flow from our Christian Contemplative tradition. Centering Prayer enriches our ability to rest in the presence of God beyond words, thoughts or concepts. It is a prayer meant to deepen not only our relationship with God, but also to support our care for those in the world around us. Each week will consist of a presentation on Centering Prayer with an opportunity for questions and discussion followed by a period of Centering Prayer.

6 Wednesdays (March 13, 20, 27, April 3, 10, 17) 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Do your dreams for Leaside PC include lots of children? Tori Smit, Synod consultant and Regional Minister for Faith Formation, will be leading a workshop on how we as a church can pass our faith onto the younger generation and build a healthy and vibrant children's ministry. Please Pass The Faith: Best Practices For Sharing Your Faith With Your Children And Grandchildren: Parents and grandparents often wonder if what they are doing at home (and in the church) is the best they could be doing to share a transformative faith with their children and grandchildren.  Are the kids listening? Does your faith matter to them? Will they grow up with a faith of their own that speaks to them and lasts a life-time? PARENTS have the MOST CRITICAL influence on the ongoing faith of their children and GRANDPARENTS play an especially important role too! Tori Smit, Regional Minister for Faith Formation for the Synod of Central, Northeastern Ontario and Bermuda, will look at 5 key practices for parents and grandparents to consider as they seek to pass their faith on to their children and grandchildren. We will hear practical take-home ideas, discover some great resources for your family to use, and reflect on the special opportunities the church year presents us with to celebrate at home. Finally we will consider some of the challenging situations we may experience as we seek to pass our faith on to the next generations.

This takes place on Sunday March 24th following the worship service. Lunch will be provided but please sign-up outside of Glebe Parlour.
